I was born in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts where I lived, played, learned, and loved until I bounded off for Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. My extroverted background in theater and music as well as a knack for business led me to take a "practical" route and I majored in Public Relations (with a minor in Music thanks to a singing scholarship!). With a PR internship at the Girl Scouts under my belt (and the Marist College Intern of the Year, 1st Runner Up Award), I bushy-tailed and bright-eyed my way to Nashville, Tennessee for reasons still unknown. A two year stint in non-profit program management and weather a bit too hot for my Northern blood, I then embarked on my Vermont adventure (my summers growing up were spent in the Northeast Kingdom). Landing in Burlington in the spring of 2000, I got focused in insurance marketing management and became driven in agency public relations. At the tail end of 2006, I wrapped up the experience, packaged it into a small business, and opened Rachel Carter PR!
When I am not busy being a professional storyteller or managing a small business I am dancing and playing air guitar to live music, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, camping, canoeing, swimming, gardening, exploring Vermont, analyzing my cats, building friendships and relationships that last, and manifesting my destiny.
